HELLO

WELCOME TO THE DISTRICT OF KAMOTO'S ALT HOMEPAGE

The district of Kamoto is a very unique and wonderful

place. We are located in the northwestern part of Kumamoto Prefecture
on the central part of Kyushu island. The scenery in our district is
breath taking. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains, plush
rice paddies, natural hot springs and the most amazing flowers. Not
only is the District of Kamoto a beautiful place, the people are just as
amazing. We ALTs are very lucky to have been placed in such a special
place.

ALTs are a part of the Japan Exchange Teaching Programme

(JET Programme). The program is based upon enchancing foreign
language education. The JET Programme promotes an international
exchange between Japanese students and the Programme participants.

Here in the district of Kamoto, there are 5 ALTs assigned

to local boards of education. We spend a lot of time at junior high
school, but some of us also get the chance to visit elementary,
kindergarten and pre-schools.

This page allows us to open up our doors of communication with

each other as well as the Japanese English teachers of Kamoto district.
This site will be updated monthly with the latest Kamoto ALT news and
happenings. We also hope that this site will provide helpful hints and teaching ideas to help make our jobs easier and more enjoyable.
